presents:

Character Creation
A physical theater approach to characterization

Two-Day Workshop
Led by Faculty Member Marc Frost

This physical theater approach to characterization will present participants with new perspectives on creating characters with an unique and playful physicality, informed by the poetic sensibility of the performing artist. In addition, participants will create original scenes in smaller groups during their 'Devising Class'.

This approach encourages artists to exercise their  unique creativity toward originating characters while exploring the multiple disciplines of acting, playwriting and directing that are essential in the working process of an actor-creator.

The workshop will introduce the following areas of study:
Improvisation: action-reaction in play
Mimo-dynamicanalysis of the natural elements towards character creation
Play: creation of theatrical characters
Devising Work: student lead scene creation
